Programs

Grow With Us! As you help us grow, we can grow the programs we hope to deliver.

Our current programming is limited due to COVID-19 restrictions. Presently, The Tiny Star Foundation activities are centered around providing information and resources via this website and in providing additional materials at the time of entrance to and discharge from the neonatal intensive care unit/labor and delivery. In addition, we provide related public awareness campaigns such as International Kangaroo Care Day on May 13, NICU Remembrance Day on September 27, NICU Awareness Day on September 30, Infant Loss Awareness Day on October 15 and Prematurity Awareness Day on November 17.

The Tiny Star Foundation is working toward providing emotional support to parents, siblings and loved ones of these fragile babies and those that experienced a perinatal loss or stillbirth. Activities include the establishment of a training for the creation of a peer-to-peer support meeting for parents of preemies, providing material donations such as gift cards for needy families, baby clothing, isolette coverlets, children’s books and sibling activity kits.

Our 2021 healthcare-related goals are to raise funds for NICU recliners to promote skin-to-skin contact between parents and their babies and to support hospital-based purchasing of purified human breast milk for preemies of non-lactating mothers.

Stay tuned for more information about our effort to facilitate professional workshops for mental health providers to continue their education about the challenges and grief reactions of parents who experienced loss, a stillbirth or a NICU stay. The effects of these difficult experiences can be long lasting and life altering.
